Nano, nano

I’ve talked about this before, how advertising and many products are almost aimed directly at certain types of OCD. Usually the contamination/washer types (like me). While I would probably not by this mouse unless it had some other cool features. I can actually see some practical applications for it. Medical setting etc.

On the lighter side

The OCD Action figure

I find this funny but others may not… I learned a long time ago that you just have to learn to laugh at yourself. Especially the OCD. After all it is pretty bizarre stuff. And damn, it sure screws our lives up but I refuse to let it take the humor out of things.

A Plague of Tics

You may be familiar with  humorist David Sedaris from his public radio commentaries.  A couple of years ago I stage managed a production of the play version of his Santaland Diaries, in which he chronicle’s his adventures as a Macy’s Christmas Elf.  Very funny stuff.

He also has OCD.  In the reading linked below he takes you inside his world as a child with OCD.

A Plague of Tics

I didn’t know that humorist David Sedaris had OCD. You may have heard him on NPR or read him in the New Yorker, or some of his books Last winter I stage managed a couple of his works done as one acts. “The Santaland Diaries and “A Christmas Letter” Very funny stuff.
