Right.

While I don’t think this phenomena is always a case of OCD/Hoarding type. I know more then one one person with an, in my opinion, excessive numbers of pets as a result of finding abandoned or injured animals and then becoming too attached to let them go. But I am willing to bet that the extreme cases talked about here are OCD
