Another of the negative aspects of living with OCD (are there any positive?) is the impact it has on those that care about us. I don’t think enough attention has been paid to this.
At best we will drive them nuts from time to time. At worst, especially if they give in to our demands for reassurance we suck the life out of the relationship. As we wander in our private nightmare and try to force those around us to walk the same steps, well, it doesn’t do relationships a lot of good.
It was certainly a contributing factor in both of my divorces and the main reason I am still single. I don’t need to go through all of that again. Though being alone is not my goal in life.
A new book is coming out on the subject. I have not read it yet, as it is being released tomorrow, but from the interview with the author and the review on Amazon it looks like like it will be pretty good. I look forward to reading it.

Hiya Inc,
The book sounds great - and you’re so right. As much as we talk about our illness, there’s no way that anyone can ever fully understand it other than ourselves (and sometimes not even we). And as much as we expect them to make allowances for us, we have to make allowances for them too - it simply isn’t their fault.
